FLORIDA - Publix has again been recognized nationally for its workplace environment, extending a long running presence on a major annual ranking of top employers in the United States.
The Florida based grocery chain was included in Fortune’s 2026 100 Best Companies to Work For list, marking the 29th consecutive year the company has appeared on the ranking.
Publix was placed at No. 50 this year, according to the list, which evaluates companies based on employee feedback and workplace culture.
The ranking is compiled by Great Place to Work in partnership with Fortune and is largely based on surveys completed by employees.
These surveys measure factors such as trust in leadership, fairness, job satisfaction, and overall workplace experience.
The evaluation also considers company policies, culture, and benefits offered to employees.
Publix is one of a small number of companies that have consistently appeared on the list every year since its inception in 1998.
The company employs more than 260,000 people and operates over 1,400 stores throughout the southeastern United States.
It is also one of the largest employee owned companies in the country, offering stock ownership opportunities to eligible workers as part of its structure.
Company leadership has attributed its continued recognition to its focus on internal development, training programs, and maintaining a consistent workplace culture across locations.
Publix has historically emphasized promoting employees from within and providing long term career opportunities.
The Fortune list is widely regarded as a benchmark for workplace quality and relies heavily on employee input rather than financial performance alone.
