The new Delray Beach Police Chief will be sworn in this evening.
Darrell Hunter has been with the police department since 2007 and has served as assistant chief since 2021.
He was appointed by the City Commission and has served as interim-chief after former Police Chief Russ Mager left the agency to lead the Longboat Key Police Department on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Hunter's swearing-in ceremony will be open to the public at Atlantic Community High School, beginning at 6 p.m.
