Flagler County, FL - A Florida woman has been arrested for allegedly posing as a registered nurse and providing medical care to thousands of patients without a valid license.
Authorities say 29-year-old Autumn Bardisa was taken into custody after a seven-month investigation led by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.
Bardisa was hired by AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway in July 2023 as an advanced nurse tech.
During the hiring process, she claimed to have completed nursing school but had not passed the national exam.
Bardisa reportedly provided a license number matching her first name but with a different last name.
When asked for a marriage license to explain the discrepancy, she failed to provide it.
In January 2024, Bardisa was offered a promotion, which led an employee to verify her nursing license.
The employee discovered that Bardisa's certified nursing assistant license had expired.
The hospital then found that Bardisa had not submitted the required marriage certificate and had been working without a valid nursing license.
Investigators later determined that Bardisa had treated 4,486 patients from June 2024 to January 2025 while never holding a legitimate nursing license.
The license number she had provided belonged to another nurse, also named Autumn, who had attended school with her.
Bardisa was arrested on seven counts of practicing healthcare without a license and seven counts of fraudulent use of identification.
She is being held on a $70,000 bond.
