As Hurricane Isaias approaches the Gulf Coast, Uber is providing free round-trip rides to designated emergency shelters for Florida residents in counties covered by the state's emergency declaration.

The transportation assistance is part of a partnership with Florida emergency management officials designed to help residents safely reach shelters before weather conditions worsen. Residents can use the promo code ISAIAS26 in the Uber app to receive free transportation to and from participating shelters. The promotion will cover up to $40 each way.

The offer comes as evacuation orders continue to expand across portions of Northwest Florida, where forecasters are warning of dangerous storm surge, coastal flooding, and hurricane-force winds. Emergency management officials are urging residents in evacuation zones, low-lying areas, mobile homes, and other vulnerable locations to leave early and follow local evacuation instructions.

State officials also encourage Floridians to review their evacuation plans, know their evacuation zone, and make shelter arrangements as soon as possible ahead of Hurricane Isaias' arrival.
