The 2025 Emmys are here, and several Black stars took home awards.

On Sunday (September 14), the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards highlighted the biggest achievements in television at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Ahead of the primetime ceremony, several Black stars earned awards at the Creative Arts Emmys, which distributed trophies in categories such as production design, sound mixing, choreography, and writing earlier this month. Beyoncé officially became an Emmy Award winner, taking home the award for Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming for her costume design work on her 2024 NFL halftime show performance dubbed the Beyoncé Bowl.

Former President Barack Obama won the Outstanding Narrator award at the Creative Arts Emmys for his work on the Netflix natural history series Our Oceans. Kendrick Lamar snagged the Creative Arts Emmy award for Music Direction following his Super Bowl halftime show.
