The husband of Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer (R) is going viral after he appeared to snub Vice President Kamala Harris during her swearing-in ceremony.

Video shows Bruce Fischer, the GOP Senator's husband, refusing to shake Harris' hand on Friday (January 3) after Harris swore in his wife for her third term. The exchange began with Harris leading Sen. Deb Fischer to recite the oath of office. The two women then shook hands, and Harris thanked the Nebraska lawmaker for all of her work.

However, when Harris turned to Bruce to give him a congratulatory handshake, he nodded his head and declined. The group posed for pictures following the apparent snub.

Video of the incident went viral on social media as some far-right personalities praised the snub while others called it "classless."

"Shocking rudeness from the husband of incoming GOP Senator as he refuses to shake Kamala's offered hand. The thought of these truly horrible people being in charge of the rest of us now is chilling," one X user tweeted.

"Bruce Fischer is exactly what is wrong with American culture right now. We have put civility on the shelf. You can’t shake the Vice President’s hand while your wife, who is a UNITED STATES SENATOR, is sworn in? @SenatorFischer should be embarrassed by this," another user wrote.
